True-Tension Stringing Machines and Accessories

  • New True-Tension Stringing Machines: The True-Tension Stringing Machine is not a cheap table top model nor a lightweight cheaply made beginners stringer but is a precision machined and hand assembled upright professional stringing machine with a heavy duty adjustable height stand designed for the serious stringer, proven by 30 years in service worldwide. The turret assembly provides 4 point or more adjustable racquet supports to the outside of the racquet. The Main String Tension Pulling Jaws are self tightening, will not crush the string, and never needs adjustment.  The Tensioning Assembly will automatically stop first at the pre-set pre-stretch tension and then at the final set desired tension eliminating mistakes.

  • Note that all parts and components of the True-Tension Stringing Machines, except for the Non-OEM hardware, are all machined in my machine shop here in the United States from solid Aluminum, Steel, or Delrin to the original design specifications. No Pot Metal Castings or Stamped Sheet Metal is used.

  • The major components of the True-Tension Stringing Machine can be broken down in a couple of minutes and put into the trunk of a car for transport and then set up just as fast without losing accuracy. It will string every tennis racquet from 30 plus year old wooden racquets to the latest composite wide bodies of today, plus badminton racquets with the proper string clamps. The majority of these machines in use today are owned by professional stringers and serious individuals that demand the very best and many were manufactured 15 to 25 years ago and are still used daily. As proven in the last 30 years except for the replaceable brake pads of the Tensioning Assembly this legendary machine will last indefinitely with proper care and use!

  • NOTE: I'm only manufacturing new True-Tension Stringing Machines on a custom order basis now as time allows as I'm putting more emphasis on maintaining the existing True-Tension Stringing Machines and String Clamps. As most of you know there are thousands of existing True-Tension Stringing Machines located worldwide. The price of a new custom manufactured True-Tension Stringing Machine is now $3,700 plus shipping including new 4 and 5 Finger String Clamps. Over the last 30 years the prices of materials, heat treating, and plating have increased many times over!  Many suppliers have gone out of business in the last few years!

  • Rebuilt True-Tension Stringing Machines: All rebuilt True-Tension Stringing Machines, when available, have been disassembled, inspected, lubricated, upgraded and re-assembled to the same exacting specifications of new Model 2020 True-Tension Stringing Machines. The main spring, main spring calibrator, bearings, and brake pads have been replaced with new. They are fully calibrated and ready to use. Rebuilt machines were trade-ins or demo machines and will have cosmetic changes such as fading of the hard anodized finish or small scratches that will not affect the use or accuracy of the machine. A rebuilt True-Tension Stringing Machine will do everything a new machine can do and the price is now $2,500.00 plus shipping including a rebuilt 4 and a 5 Finger String Clamps.

  • New Tensioning Assemblies: Many owners of earlier True-Tension Stringing Machines have traded in their existing Tensioning Assembly for the upgraded Model 2020 Tensioning Assembly. The main differences of the Model 2020 is a new style Main Spring (ID# 77), a new style Main Spring Calibrator (ID# 71), a new style Main Spring Cover Assembly (ID# 95),  a new Speed Crank Assembly (ID#s 1A-1E), and a modified Main Spring Tension Adjustment Knob (ID# 1). These items can be seen in the Tensioning Assembly Exploded View that can be downloaded in PDF format by clicking here. Only the True-Tension Stringing Machines with the large Main Tensioning Spring as shown on the Home Page. There are still some unconverted True-Tension Stringing Machines with the short String Pulling Jaws that can also be upgraded.  A completely new Model 2020 Tensioning Assembly will upgrade all earlier True-Tension Stringing Machines except for a few remaining very early manufactured Beta True-Tension Stringing Machines of 1979 and earlier.  The Model 2020 is the last version mass produced except for a few Beta Model 2050 Tensioning Assemblies that exist of which I have 2.

  • There were major changes to the original pre-production True-Tension Stringing Machines before the Model 100 which was the first production model with the large Main Tension Spring and the smaller Aluminum Pawl Block Assembly in use today. The Model 100 True-Tension Stringing Machine Tensioning Assembly can be upgraded to a Model 2020 True-Tension Stringing Machine Tensioning Assembly during overhaul/reconditioning for an additional $250.00 for the upgrade parts with no additional labor costs. I want to point out that a calibrated Model 100 True-Tension Stringing Machine Tensioning Assembly that was upgraded with the long String Pulling Jaws will do everything as accurately as a new Model 2020 True-Tension Stringing Machine Tensioning Assembly. The basic design remains the same.

  • A completely new Model 2020 Tensioning Assembly can usually be purchased outright for $2,000.00 plus shipping. I will exchange a new Model 2020 Tensioning Assembly for an existing Tensioning Assembly with the cost subject to the condition and version of the existing Tensioning Assembly.

  • Brake Assemblies: New TTSM P/N 20104 Brake Assemblies are available with the new long life Synthetic Rubber Brake Pads for $95.00 plus each shipping. Existing Brake Assemblies can be overhauled with the new long life Synthetic Rubber Brake Pads for $45.00 each plus shipping. The overhaul only includes the change of the Brake Pads and does not include re-plating, re-welding tabs, or physical damage. For info about the new long life Synthetic Rubber Brake Pads click here.
Replacement True-Tension Stringing Machine Parts: Every part of every component assembly that makes up a True-Tension Stringing Machine are normally in stock and can be purchased. A complete printable parts list and exploded view breakdown of all major components can be downloaded in PDF format by clicking here.

  • Turret Assembly Wide Body Top Support Plate Conversion Kits: If you have an early True-Tension Stringing Machine with the smaller Turret Assembly Top Support Plate we can supply the parts necessary to upgrade your Turret Assembly to accept the Wide Body Top Support Plate subject to the availabilty of the parts.

  • Heavy duty True-Tension String Clamps: (Updated 11/07/07)

  • A Waterproof Top Cover for the True-Tension Stringing Machine is a custom made to fit black vinyl cover that has True-Tension imprinted in silver lettering on top and is available as an accessory that is designed to fit over the top of an assembled machine. The cost for this Waterproof Top Cover for the True-Tension Stringing Machine is $45.00 each plus shipping.

  • Speed Weavers:
Discounted to $130 per set of a Short and Long Speed Weavers (Original 1982 Wholesale Price to Distributors)
Black Speed Weaver Set is for a 16x18 String Pattern
Brown Speed Weaver Set is for a 16x20 String Pattern
Gray Speed Weaver Set is for a 18x20 String Pattern (Out of Stock)

I still have a limited supply of new Brown and Black Speed Weavers. They are extremely labor intensive to manufacture and when my inventory is gone I'm not going to make any more.
